For anyone that likes the dirt tracks sliding under your feet get a bike and explore the paths around the volcano crater of Lagoa das Sete Cidades.
You will find green forests with nice single tracks (I am not a “biky” person, so I personally did not dare to go on down on them). And you will be rewarded with stunning views over the lakes.

Paddling Home.

On the last morning of my visit to São Miguel I went with Didi to Lagoa das Sete Cidades. The twin-lake set on the crater of a dormant vulcano, is the biggest on the archipelago.
